More of Japan’s Manhole Covers

I sent a link to my last post about manhole covers to my Japanese friends, and they directed me to this website, which got me wildly excited. I selected a few of the manhole covers that have Japanese woodcarving interest to share here.

With more research I discovered how a manhole cover is made and how much Japanese people utilize manhole covers as an outlet for design. Below is the picture of a prizewinning manhole cover design and some pictures of how manhole covers are made and recycled.
